Allen "Doug" Jenkins

Allen Douglas "Doug" Jenkins, age 78, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Versailles Health Care.

He was born on March 4, 1943, in Scott County, Kentucky, to the late Allen Hamilton and Pauline Jenkins.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his grandson, Jordan Jenkins and granddaughter, Brittany Gardner.

Doug worked for Sheller-Globe in Union City, Indiana, for 30 years and then for Transilwrap in Richmond, Indiana, for near 20 years. Doug was a member of the Elks, enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and doing yard work. His hobbies included woodworking and attending auctions. He loved his farm cat, Sugar, who he had for 15 years.

Doug is survived by his wife, of nearly 57 years, Marilyn Jenkins; his children, Vonda Gardner (Tom Johnson) of Richmond, Indiana, Vanessa Jenkins of Hollansburg, and Dallas Jenkins, of Anderson, Indiana; his grandson, Bryce Dalzell-Jenkins as well as numerous extended family members and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to relative Scott Downing and his family.

A celebration of Doug's life will be held at 2 PM, on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes, New Madison campus, with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.

Doug's family will be receiving guests on Thursday, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home in New Madison.
