Becky Sue Filby

Becky Sue Filby, 68, of Palestine, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

She was born on August 27, 1956, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late William “Bill” and Suzanne (Byers) Thompson.

In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Michael “Mike” Filby, whom she married on June 5, 1982, and who passed away on June 1, 2020; her brother, Bill Thompson; and her nephew, Michael Ryan Parsons.

She is survived by her siblings, Cathy (RC) Bowling, and Jim (Theresa) Thompson, all of Greenville; her brother-in-law, Allen Filby of New Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky was a 1973 graduate of Piqua High School. She continued her education at Sinclair Community College, where she earned her bachelor’s in Dietary Nutrition. Becky was well loved by all who knew her. She valued her friendship and was a social butterfly. Ever Friday night, Becky looked forward to going to the Jamboree in New Paris. Aside from her family, Becky leaves behind her cherished dog, Echo. 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison.

Guests may pay their respects on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, New Madison Campus.
