Bernice B. "The Nut Lady" Bailey

Bernice B. " The Nut Lady" Bailey, 89, of Greenville, passed away Thursday evening, February 7 at her residence. She was born near Greenville, daughter of the late Andrew and Pluma (Allread) Baker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bailey on Feb. 4, 1991; a son, Gary; three sisters, Trellis Baker, Sylvia Bolen, and May Baker; and two brothers, Virgil and Russell Baker. Bernice was retired from Second National Bank and was a member of the Ft. Jefferson United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Chris Bailey of Greenville; a sister, Lola Baker of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday, February 11 at 2 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 12 p.m. till 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.
