Betty J. Gerace

Betty J. Gerace, 84, of Greenville, passed away late Saturday evening, May 17 at her residence. She was born in Canton, OH, daughter of the late Martin and Hilda (Knepper) McCall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Charles and a grandson Jermiah Gerace. Betty atended McKinley High School in Canton, OH before moving to Greenville in 1957. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville and when able was active in the Rosary Alter Society of the church and was a loving homemaker. In addition to her family, Betty was proud of her service as a "Rosie the Riviter" during WWII. Betty's unique personality will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Charles M. (Debbie) Gerace of Ansonia, Jerry (Haidi) Gerace of Troy, Patrick Gerace of Washington, DC, Michael (Falaeh) Gerace of Greenville, Joseph (fiancee' and Betty's caregiver Kristina Mayo) of Greenville, Mary Gerace of Washington, DC and Natalie (Danny) Haybron of Beavercreek; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 22 at 11:30 a.m at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville with the Rev. Fr. John White celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Church Cemetery. The family will recieve friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. with prayers being offered at 5:45 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.
