Bobby Buteau 85, of Greenville, passed away, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville.
He was born August 17,1932 in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late David and Elsie (Culbertson) Buteau, Sr.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his brothers, David, Tommy, Donald, Herb, Freddie, and Kenneth; and his sisters, Edna, Pauline, Eileen, and Ruth.
Bobby served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked many years at the Skate Place where he repaired skates, was a floor guard and helped maintain the facility. He was also a truck driver for many years, working for Classic Carrier in Versailles. He enjoyed working in the yard and the garden.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis (Shafer) Buteau, whom he married on March 16, 1955; his son, Mike Buteau (Pat Baker) of Greenville; his daughter, Vickie (James) Hembree of Piqua; his grandchildren, Michael (Crissi) Buteau Jr. of Hollansburg, Christopher (Lacy) Buteau of New Madison, Crystal Buteau of Versailles, Adam (Shellie) Hembree of Covington, Josh (Sara)Hembree of Piqua, and Stacey (Marshall) Poling of Piqua; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Gibson of Marion, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with graveside military honors conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
Family and Friends may visit on Saturday, August 26,2017 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the funeral home.
