Carmen R. Sanders, 73, of Ansonia, passed away at 10:57 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Versailles Health Care in Versailles.
She was born January 24, 1944 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of the late Homer and Della (Jones) Byrley.
In addition to her parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Sanders, and her brothers, Leroy, Donald and Earl Byrley and Lyman Matherly.
Carmen was a member of the American Legion in Ansonia. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking. Carmen was a very social person and loved spending time with her friends at the American Legion in Ansonia. She worked for many years at the Whistle Stop in Ansonia and was a livestock farmer most of her life.
Carmen is survived by her children and their spouses, Lorrie Ann and Randy Fosnaugh of Ansonia, and Kenneth R. and Joanne Kisner of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Craig Fosnaugh, Ryan Fosnaugh, Richard Yox, and Keith Yox; great granddaughter, Emma Yox; sisters, Sandra Fields and Linda Greaver; and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Carmen was not a fan of cold weather, so her burial will be this spring in Livingston Cemetery in Marshall, Illinois.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
