Carol L. Ball, 82, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at home. Carol was born on November 18th, 1941, in Columbus Ohio.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Ball, her parents Dale and Evelyn Bowers, Evelyn’s second husband Clark Wentz, and her sister Mary E. Clark.
Carol is survived by her four children; son Doug (wife Dean’a) Cook of Huntsville, OH; son Pastor Robert (Bob) Cook of Green Cove Springs, FL; daughter Laura Robinson of Greenville, OH; and son Jon (wife Kelly) Cook of Summerfield, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Ron Bowers of central Ohio, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Carol is probably best remembered, along with husband, John, as the face of The Early Bird, which has been the local shopping paper of record for many, many years. She had also been active in local, state, and national politics. She was well-traveled and an avid golfer. She was a member of the EUM Church in Greenville and she had attended a Darke County Area Emmaus Walk.
Carol donated her body to The Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. The family is being served by Tribute Funeral Home in Greenville. Please check their website for details of a Celebration of Life Memorial service tentatively scheduled for 2:00 to 4:00 PM March 2, 2024 at Shawnee Prairie Preserve.
