Carol Leon "Lee"

Carol Leon "Lee" Smith, 82, of Greenville, went to be with his saviour Monday evening, November 3, 2008. He was a resident at Gade Nursing Home. Mr. Smith was born in Greenville, the son of the late Jesse and Jessie (Replogle) Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa (Teri) Martin and two sisters, Bessie Fifer and Esther Runkle. He graduated from Jackson Township (Mississinawa Valley) High School in 1944, and joined the Army Air Force. He was a graduate of Miami University and then Perdue University. He retired from Maryville School District in Cheektowaga, NY in 1985. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his children, Steven (Ann) Smith of Columbus, OH, Sherrie (Joe) Gay of Endwell, NY, and Scott (Elaine) Smith of Tonawanda; a son-in-law, Alan Martin of Winchester, IN; grandchildren, Geoffrey Smith, Melanie (Martin) Cottrell, Suzanne (Martin) Dugan, Matthew Bowman, Michelle Gay and David Gay; and his longtime friend, Rosalie Fry of Greenville. Graveside services will be held Friday, November 7, at 3:30 p.m. at the Teegarden Cemetery near Ansonia with Pastor Cindy Null officiating. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Friday from 2 to 3 p.m.
