Charlene V. Hamilton, 97, of Union City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Albany, Indiana.

She was born on February 23, 1926, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Orville and Theedis (Dawson) Lea.

In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her husbands, Adrian Hamilton and Creston Harter Jr.; her five brothers, Arthur Lea, Millard Lea, Willard Lea, Dawson Lea and James Lea; her five sisters, June Sharp, Ruth Freedom, Florence Lorton, Arelene Hittle and Maxine Lea; her three stepdaughters; Phyllis Michael, Arlie Lawrence and Sue Murphy.

Charlene is survived by her children, Terry Conklin of Union City, Ohio, and Roger Lee Harter of Union City, Indiana; her stepdaughter, Sharon MacDougall of Arizona; four grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her sister, Phyllis Bruss and her brother, Pete Lea.

Charlene was a graduate of Jackson High School. She enjoyed her flowers as well as reading and will be remembered for her love for her family.

A Graveside Service will be held for Charlene at 12 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Greenville Union Cemetery with Pastor Tony Price officiating.
