Charles E. Mohrmeyer, Sr., 86, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Kindred Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born on December 27, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Edwin C. and Rosie Mae (Phillips) Mohrmeyer.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his children, Timothy Mohrmeyer and Sharon Walton.
Charles joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country honorably during the Korean War as a Corporal in the 3rd Marine Division. Charles worked for Norcold for many years as a tool specialist until he retired in 2001. In his free time, Charles enjoyed woodworking, farming, and watching NASCAR.
Charles is survived by his wife, Leona E. (Metzcar) Mohrmeyer; his children, Pam (Rick) VanWinkle of New Paris, Ohio, Janet Mohrmeyer of Eaton, Ohio, Eddie (Tiffney) Mohrmeyer of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Paul Mohrmeyer of Greenville, Ohio; his grandchildren, Michael (Starla) VanWinkle, Michelle (Shawn) Landis, Jason Sizemore, and Ryan Sizemore; his 6 great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris.
