Charles Richard Marker, 79, of Greenville passed away Wednesday, October 17 at his residence. He was born September 10, 1928 in Greenville son of the late Leonard and Esther (Rohr) Marker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Marker; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Lowell Brewer; and a nephew, Mark Brewer. Mr. Marker was retired from NCR in Dayton and Honeywell in Greenville. He also farmed and raised Black Angus cattle. He was a member of the First Congregational Chritian Church in Greenville and was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea. He is survived by 2 nieces, Beth Dorsey of Columbus, OH and Marcia (Buzz) Fink of Greenville; great nieces and nephews; Jodi (Keith) Graney, Jason, Joshua and Megan Fink; and 4 great great nephews; Mason, Cole, Parker and Vance Graney. Services will be held Monday, October 22 at 1 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Heart Association.
