Christine Elizabeth Holland

Christine "Chris" Elizabeth Holland, 72, of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Dayspring of Miami Valley in Enon, Ohio.

She was born on July 30, 1949, in Frostburg, Maryland, to the late John and Rosemary (Canning) Byrne.

In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Byrne; and her nephew, Donald Byrne.

Anyone who knew Chris never had to guess what she was thinking, she would gladly let her opinion be known. She was stubborn and willful, but also loving, caring and full hearted. She taught her daughters to stand up and fight for what they believed in. Chris battled with many illnesses throughout her life, but there was one benefit to her situation, the bag-o-pills she was always packing around with her. She had a treatment for anything that ailed you. She loved butterflies and her many collectibles filled her home. Chris loved her family and spoiled her daughters and grandchildren. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her family. She was always just a phone call away. Her voice on the other end of the line will be missed the most.

Chris is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gary W. Holland, who she married on June 8, 1973; her daughters, Tricia Gillum and her husband David, of Greenville, Ohio, and Missie Plut and her husband Matt, of New Carlisle; her grandchildren, Garrett, Michael, Aislee, and Holland; her sisters, Patricia Shanholtz of Van Cleave, Mississippi, and Rose Richards of Cumberland, Maryland; her niece, Christy Landrum of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; and her adopted daughters, Joy Urschel and her husband Steve, and Eunice Marlowe and her husband David, all of New Carlisle; and their children, Stefanie, Kristen, Sarah, and Zach.

A celebration of Chris' life will be held at 4:00 PM, on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home in New Carlisle, with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial and graveside service will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 3:00 PM, in Forest Glenn Cemetery in Green Spring, West Virginia.

Her family will be receiving guests on Sunday, from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home in New Carlisle.
