Corelyn "Sammie" (Warvel) Mygatt, 84, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the State of the Heart Hospice Center in Greenville.
She was born August 9, 1930 in Washington Township, Darke County, the daughter of the late Otis and Julia (Landers) Warvel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Warvel in 2005; and a sister, Louree Miller in 1979.
Sammie loved living on the farm with livestock, dogs and riding horses. Her first job after graduating from Greenville High School was with Dancer Case Farm Equipment, then Sellman Hardware, Massey Ferguson, Kennison Garden Equipment, S.S. Shuff and Sons, and Tim's Mower and More. She was a member of Coletown Congregational Christian Church, Greenville Area Dog Club, Eagles Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and Eastern Star of (Arcanum) New Madison.
She is survived by her sister, Reba (Emerson) Hart of Greenville; niece, Peggy (Gary) Papas of Lexington, South Caroline; nephews, Darrel (Shelly) Miller of Cedar Park, Texas, and Paul Miller of Junction City, Kansas; great niece, Sarah Miller of Cedar Park, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 16 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Coletown Congregational Christian Church, 2876 St Rt 571 W., Greenville, Ohio 45331.
