Daniel Richard Smith

Daniel R. "Smitty" Smith, 70, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Versailles Healthcare in Versailles, Ohio.

He was born on April 29, 1952, in Greenville to Rose (Best) Smith of Greenville, and the late Gerald Smith.

In addition to his father,Smitty was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Smith; his brother Steve Smith; his nephew Shane Smith.

You couldn't help but like Smitty. He had a unique sense of humor; always telling jokes, acting goofy, and making people laugh. He loved his job and worked as the "Head Environmental Service Technician" at Edison College for 30 years. He had an amazing talent to grow anything. He always had the prettiest flowers on the street. He had several loves in his life. He loved his grand babies, his kitties, and long car rides, and the Kincaid sisters.

In addition to his mother, Smitty is survived by his children, Krystal Bussell of Greenville, Katina (Eric) Hollopeter of Greenville, Daniel S. Smith of Greenville, and Shannon (Amber) Stump of Lima, Ohio; his grandchildren, Zachariah, Claryssa, Landon, Juniper, Layla, Elijah, Emma, Nichole Angelina; and his great granddaughters, Emerald and Monroe.

A celebration of Smitty's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

His family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, from 11:00 AM until the time of his service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tribute Funeral Homes to offset funeral expenses.
