David Cole Rutherford

David C. "Bones" Rutherford, 83, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Village Green Health Care Center in Greenville, Ohio.

He was born on July 16, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Herman D. and Mary Belle (Strader) Rutherford.

David had a love for antiques, collecting an assortment of treasures over the years. He had a special love of antique cars and enjoyed going to all the car shows. He worked for Chrysler, retiring in 1994 after 30 years of service. He and Marcia enjoyed the simple life on their little farm in New Madison.

David is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marcia (Keiter) Rutherford, whom he married on July 9, 1960; his children, Michael (Doug Sheidler) Rutherford of Bellbrook, Ohio, Cheryl (Don Kohlhaas) Holly of Dunedin, Florida; and James (Julie) Rutherford of Amelia, Ohio; his grandchildren, Tara, Dani, Ashley, Dawson, Jake, Danielle, Lauren, and Lillian; his 5 great grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara (Don) Leininger of New Madison, Ohio.

Celebration of David's life will be held from 1PM to 4PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his home located at 1549 Rush Road, New Madison, Ohio.
