David E. Scantland

David E. Scantland, 76, of New Madison, passed away at his home on January 3, 2009. Dave was born December 13, 1932 son of the late Cecil H. and Aidee (Elleman) Scantland.
Dave is retired from the United States Air Force. He also worked a Ludy’s in New Madison as a drafting engineer and worked for SIMC. Dave enjoyed Computers, tinkering with automobiles, doing handyman work around the house and for his family and enjoyed going to Bob Evans. Mostly Dave enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents Dave is preceded in death by his wife Joan who passed away in 2005; three brothers and a great granddaughter Katelyn Shumaker.
Dave is survived by three sons Patrick “Pat” Scantland of Greenville, Robert “Bob” and wife Rebecca Scantland on Greenville and Thomas “Tom” and wife Julie Scantland of Greenville; two daughters Christie Miller of New Madison and Demonta “Dee” Scantland of Naples, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Justin Douglas, Jeremy Scantland and Jeff Weyant, Chasity Shumaker, Jessica Miller, Ashley Lovett, Michelle Miller, Kyle, Shayne, & Cody Scantland and Thomas Scantland; and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation for Dave will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Storch Braund Funeral Home in New Madison. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009 also at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Lyle being asked to officiate. Full military honors will be given by the United States Air Force. Burial will follow in the Greenmound Cemetery
