Deveda L. “Lucy” Willingham, 87, of Greenville and formerly of Hollansburg, passed away on June 14, 2011 at the Brethrens Retirement Community in Greenville. Lucy was born in Leesburg, Missouri on September 9, 1923 to the late Forest D. and Eura Golden(Cates) Lincoln. Lucy retired from Corning after 30 years of service, where she was also a former secretary of their labor union. She was a member of the Hollansburg Christian Church and a former board member. Lucy enjoyed bowling, traveling and most of all spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a son, Gary Willingham.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 66 years, George L. Willingham; a son, Lloyd Willingham of Glen Karn; two daughters, Deveda “Sue” and Steve Richards of Hollansburg and Wanda and Kenny Brown of Glen Karn; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Lincoln of Springfield, Missouri. The family will receive guests on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 1-3 PM at the Hollansburg Christian Church in Hollansburg. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Joe Hanna being asked to officiate. The family requests memorial contributions be given to the Meals on Wheels program and donations will be accepted at the church.
