Doris Jean Schweppe

Doris Jean Schweppe, 73, of Union City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Hospice of Dayton.

She was born on October 14, 1949, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to the late George and Nora (White) Shirk.

Doris is survived by her husband of 53 years, Karl Schweppe, whom she married on October 25, 1969; her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Marianne Schweppe of Miamisburg, Ohio; her granddaughters, Erica Schweppe, Lauren (Shaun) Long, and Rachael Schweppe, all of Richmond, Indiana; and her siblings, Joan Bentz of Grabill, Indiana, and Sandra (Steve) Billings of Oxnard, California.

Doris was a graduate of Snyder High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She spent over 33 years serving as the School Librarian at Mississinawa Valley Schools until she retired in February of 2022. When she was not at the school Doris enjoyed spending time with her 3 beloved granddaughters, knitting, creating crafts, and gardening. She was a member of Tri Kappa and the Ohio Schools Employee Union.

A celebration of Doris' life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery.

Guests may visit with her family on Friday from 12:00 PM until the start of the funeral at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
