Dorothy I. (Whittaker) Sullenbarger, 97, of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on December, 19, 2015 at The Village Green in Greenville. Dorothy was born on February 17, 1918 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Russell and Iva (Anthony) Whittaker.
Dorothy loved quilting, feeding stray animals and most of all spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, George Sullenbarger; a daughter, Evelyn Wilson; a granddaughter, Janice Sullenbarger; brothers and sisters, Marie Garbig, Elnora Marshall, Emma Frederick, Chalmer Whittaker, Gerald Whittaker, Don Whittaker and Everett (Jack) Whittaker.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Jim and Michelle Sullenbarger of Florida, Dan and Donna Sullenbarger of Union City, Ohio, and Reda Sullenbarger of Greenville; son-in-law, David Wilson of South Carolina; grandchildren, Vicki and Jeff Ward of Canada, Bill and Tina Long of Canada, Lynnette Long of Oklahoma, Julie and Danny Brickler of Greenville, Kathy and Chris Moore of Union City, Indiana, Mike Sullenbarger, Kelli Sullenbarger of Union City, Indiana and Brandon Sullenbarger of Greenville; great grandchildren, Matt, Lacey, Cole, Clint, Taylor, Audrey and Blake; brother and sisters, Jim Whittaker of Eaton, Vera Marshall of Greenville, and Nola Coning of Greenville as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Family and Friends may visit prior to the service from 12 - 1 PM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenville Twp. Cemetery. Family request memorial contributions be given to the Darke County Humane Society or donors choice.
