Dorothy L. (Roadcap) Blanken, 68, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 18, 2022, at her home.
She was born on July 14, 1954, in Manassas, Virginia, to the late Elverton Steven Roadcap, Sr. and Patricia Colleen (Campbell) Blanken.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Wayne Blanken, whom she married in 1971 and passed away in 2019; her stepfather, Donald Blanken; her brothers, Chip Roadcap and Elverton Roadcap, Jr.; and her step-brother, William "Buddy" Steven.
Dorothy worked for Ford Motor Company for over 14 years. She also enjoyed farming and being a farm wife. Dorothy liked riding her horses, going roller skating and swimming. She was a devout Christian and valued her Pentecostal tradition. Dorothy was known to be hard-headed, and everyone knew that it was her way or the highway!
Dorothy is survived by her children, Chris (Rachel) Blanken of Greenville, Lance Parsons of Lynn, Indiana, and John (Tiffany) Parsons of Jonesville, Virginia; her 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley (Larry) McKee of Greenville.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.
Guests may visit on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM.
