Edward C. Lease

Edward C. Lease, Sr., 80, of Versailles, OH, passed away Thursday morning, May 16, 2013, at his residence.

He was born, June 14, 1932, in Westernport, Maryland, son of the late Noah W. and Alice M. Lease. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Lease; and a great grandson, Jason Waylon.

Ed was retired in 1984 from Westinghouse/A.O. Smith in Union City, IN. He was a member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren near Bradford, OH.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce A. (Beireis) Lease, whom he married October 4, 1958; children, Sue (John) Jenkins of Ansonia, OH, Alice M. Craig of Versailles, OH, Edward C. (Donna) Lease, Jr. of Versailles, OH., and Tom Lease of Bradford, OH; grandchildren, John Jenkins, Jr., James Jenkins, Chris Ford, E.J. Lease, Larry Lease, Maggie Yonkers, and Annie Stinson; great grandchildren, Alexis Ford, Maggie Jenkins, Ryan, Jared, and Chelsea Ford, Airianna, Star, Hanson, and Bradon Stinson, Amber Jones, Alyson and Emily Lease; brothers, Owen (Paulette) Lease of Florida, Rev. Martin (Alice) Lease of Le Vale, MD., Lawrence Lease of Western Port, MD., and Ernest (Linda) Lease of Mt. Summit, IN; a sister, Glenna (Bobby) Heavener of Keyser, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 21 at the Oakland Church of the Brethren, 8058 Horatio Harris Creek Road, Bradford, OH., with Pastor Burt Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway St., Greenville, OH. Monday, May 20, from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Oakland Church of the Brethren or Heartland Hospice, 3131 S. Dixie Dr., Ste. 208, Dayton, OH 45439.
