Elizabeth "Dori" Howdieshell, 67, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton due to complications with COVID-19.

She was born on August 5, 1953, in Dunn, North Carolina, to the late Walter and Ida (Meech) Ivey.

In addition to her parents, Dori was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Paul Howdieshell, and her surrogate mother, Angie Ronde.

Dori is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mark Howdieshell, whom she married on September 26, 1992; her children, Melissa (Bass-Boatright) Hendrickson and her husband, Bobby, of Lewisburg, Ohio, Arthur "Bubba" Dewey Boatright, Jr. and his wife, Tonya, of Greenville; her grandchildren, Alex (fiancé Jacob Meyers), Bo and Colt Hendrickson, Brooke Crider, and Wyatt and Garrett Boatright; her mother-in-law, Donna Howdieshell; her great grandchildren, Zade, Cruz and Aris Fader, and Oliver Boatright. Dori is also survived by her brothers, Charles Ivey and his wife, Caroline, of Ladson, South Carolina, Raymond Ivey and his wife, Lorretta, of Wesley Chapel, Florida; and her brother-in-law, Kenny Howdieshell of Greenville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dori was the matriarch of the family. She loved with everything she had and gave all she could. She was a bright light in her community. She owned and operated Tropical Isle Tanning Salon for 25 years and was a sales associate at Harbor Freight for the past four years. She was a past member of the Greenville City Council, Darke County Republican Party Central Committee Secretary, Darke County Woman's Club, She co-chaired with the late Barb Fee, for several years, The Darke County Republican Party Pig Roast, was a board member and past chairman of the Darke County Cancer Association, and past Deputy Grand Regent of the Women of the Moose. She was a member of the Greenville Moose chapter #102, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Greenville VFW Auxiliary. Dori loved to laugh, joke and get together with her many friends and family. She was one of those people who just drew others to her. Wherever she went, she made friends, and she never neglected to keep in touch with them.

Dori will always live in the hearts of her beloved family and friends. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, she had endless love for us. I can only hope the kindness, compassion, and sincerity she has shown over the years remains with us as we mourn her passing and celebrate her life. May God keep her in his amazing grace. We love you Mother, Nana, Dori! To all those who knew her well, "Dori has left the building".

A Celebration of Dori's life will take place on May 8, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Greenville Moose Lodge.

Dori's family requests that memorial donation be given to the Darke County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 781, Greenville, Ohio 45331, or Moose Charities, 155 S. International Drive, Mooseheart, Illinois 60539.

The family has entrusted Tribute Funeral Homes with Dori's final arrangements.
