Ellen K. Campbell, 79, of Greenville and formerly of the Columbus and Springfield areas, passed away late Saturday evening at the Covington Care Center in Covington, OH. She was born in Columbus, the daughter of the late Joseph and Jessie (Gaunt) Olds. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Thomas L. Campbell in 2003;a son, Thomas Christopher Campbell; five brothers, Joseph, William Marshall, Robert, David and John Olds; and two sisters, Lois (John) Sullivan and Sister Mary Olds, SND. A homemaker, Ellen had worked as a clerk in the engineering Department at General Motors prior to her marriage to Thomas. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Columbus and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville, OH. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (David) Stammen of Rossburg, OH, Mary (Richard) Campbell-Zopf of Yellow Springs, OH and Peter (Wendy) Campbell of Shady Springs, WV; grandchildren, Sara (Alan) Timmerman, Nicholas Stammen, Magdalena Zopf, Isaiah Campbell, David Campbell and Amelia Campbell. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville with Rev. John White celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville on Tuesday, May 19 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service being offered at 4:45 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Alzheimer's Association or The Sisters of Notre Dame.
