Emily Lucille Harris

Emily Lucille Harris, 88, formerly of Hollansburg, passed away Saturday morning, May 30, 2009 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. She was born in Jackson Township, Darke County, daughter of the late Alfred and Cora (Oliver) Brewer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman A. Harris; four brothers, Wayne, Melvin, Ralph and Reuben Brewer; and three sisters, Edith Miller, Edna Hoggatt and Esther Oswald. A homemaker, she was a member of the Hollansburg Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her children, Kyle (Debbie) Harris of East Lansing, MI, Elaine (Alan) Bradley of Lima, OH, and Keith (Krissi) Harris of New Madison; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brewer of Union City, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday, June 3 at 11 a.m. at the Hollansburg Christian Church with the Rev. Joe Hanna officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollansburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Hollansburg Christian Church.
