Esther Edwina Ross

Esther E. Ross, 89, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away during the early hours of Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.

She was born on January 5, 1933, in Darke County to the late Edward and Maude "Ethel" (Thomas) Thwaits.

In addition to his parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Oaks; her daughter, Barbara O'Neal; her siblings, Marjorie Goodpaster, Arlene (Bill) Ahrns, Marilyn Charles, and Wilbur Thwaits.

Esther was a 1950 graduate of Greenville High School. She spent over 10 years as a cook in Union City and also worked for the VFW as a waitress. She was a previous member of the Woodington Congressional Christian Church and the Greenville VFW Auxiliary. In her free time, Esther liked crocheting.

Esther is survived by her children, Donald (Barb) Pope of Hamburg, New York, Dorothy (Joe) Goodpaster of Pace, Florida, Nancy Begley of Dayton, Ohio, and Larry (Sheila) Oaks of Tipp City, Ohio; her 13 grandchildren and countless great grandchildren; and her brother and his wife, Lester and Mary Thwaits of Greenville.

Per Esther's request, there will be no services.
