Farris G. Dunlap Moseley passed away the morning of December 29th, in Greenville, Ohio at the age of 71. She was born to Farris G. (Flemings) and Harvey C. Dunlap both deceased. Farris was also preceded in death by two brothers, John R. “Buddy” Watson and CMSgt. (Ret.) Lewis W. Dunlap and a sister, Emma M. Dunlap. Farris is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, William L. Moseley, Jr.; a brother, Harvey C. Dunlap of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister-in-law Betty (Herndon) Dunlap of Huber Heights, Ohio; a daughter Bobbi Kaye (Dean) Lohiser; two sons, Bill III (Shawna) and Michael all of Columbus, OH; and five grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Ohio. She was a former Deacon and served as Past President of the Women’s Association. Farris was a 1954 graduate of Greenville Senior High School. A graduate of the 1957 class of the Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing, she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education from the University of Cincinnati and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Wright State University. Farris was a nurse at Wayne Hospital in Greenville and at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton and was also a nursing instructor. She worked for Patterson Co-op High School for 30 years in Vocational Education. She was awarded the Frank Aldora Outstanding Vocational Educator in Dayton. Upon her death, Farris was still a Registered Nurse (RN) having maintained her licensure and certifications for 50 years. Farris was a member of many organizations including the following: American Nursing Association; the University of Cincinnati Alumni Association; Past Presidents of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #7262 Ladies Auxiliary – chosen Outstanding President in the State of Ohio and Past Vice President of District 3; Past President Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary (DAVA) and Past District 2 Commander; Past Secretary American Legion Auxiliary #140; Past President American Association of University Women; Past President Delta Kappa Gamma-Alpha Upsilon- Honorary Society of Women Educators; Past President University Women of Darke County. Services will be held Thursday, January 3 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville with the Rev. John Person officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ol;iver-Floyd Funeral home, Greenville, Wednesday, Janauary 2 from 6-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Kidney foundation, the Diabetes Foundation or the Glaucoma Foundation.
