Gary L. Bowman

Gary L. Bowman, 64, of Greenville passed away Wednesday morning December 5 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. He was born in Greenville, the son of the late Harold and Grace (Brumbaugh) Bowman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye E. Heitkamp on November 3, 2006. Gary and his wife owned and operated Bowman's Concessions in Greenville. He was a former officer and detective with the Greenville police department. He was a member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren, the Ohio Fair Managers Association and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He also refereed basketball games for many years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra K. (Warner) Bowman, whom he married January 3, 1964; children, Wayne and wife Loretta Bowman, Craig Bowman and Carolyn Bowman, all of Greenville; grandchildren, Meagan Hill, Nathan Hill, Aaron Bruss, Joshua Heitkamp, Noah Heitkamp and Krista Edger; a sister, Sue A. Swank of Greenville; a son-in-law, Chris Heitkamp; and his step mother, Norma Jean Bowman of Eaton. Services will be held Monday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Hershel Fee officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
