Gary Lee Clawson

Gary Lee Clawson, 70, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Village Green Health and Rehab in Greenville, Ohio.

He was born on January 18, 1951, in Eaton, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Wanda (Charles) Clawson.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Patty (Fourman) Clawson, in 1997, whom he married on April 6, 1974; and his children Jared and Tisha Clawson.

Gary is survived by his children, Justin (Jennifer Kiser) Clawson of New Madison, Tiffany (Brandon) Bowman of Fountain City, Indiana, and Tara (Wyatt) Brown of Arcanum, Ohio; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cynthia, Kinsley, Keagan, Willa, and one on the way; and his sister, Cheryl (Gary) McCabe of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Gary was a simple man and lived a simple life. He was a lifetime member and was very active in Castine Church. Throughout the years he has filled many leadership roles at the church, such as being an elder, teacher, deacon, and fill-in minister. He was a country boy at heart and took great joy in attending livestock shows, the Darke County Fair, and was an active 4-H parent. He loved farming and passed on that work ethic to his children. He enjoyed playing euchre with friends and family.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Castine Church, 624 US 127, Arcanum, Ohio 45304, with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Burial will follow in Castine Cemetery.

Gary's family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM at the church.
