Gene Straszheim

Gene M. Straszheim, 76, of New Madison, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana.
He was born May 20,1932 near Lewisburg, Ohio to the late Herman Straszheim and Gladys (Riegel) Straszheim, of Eaton, OH. He graduated from Eaton High School in 1950, and attended The Ohio State University. He also served four years in the United States Air Force. He worked at NCR in Dayton, and later retired from Panasonic in Troy. He was a private pilot, and an avid race fan, He enjoyed gardening, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Gene is preceded in death by his father, Herman Straszheim in 1993. Gene is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary(Bryan)Straszheim, of New Madison; one son, Mark and wife Katie of N.Muskegon, Michigan; one daughter, Kay and husband James Stephan of New Madison; five grandchildren, Jill, Abby, Jenna Straszheim and Megan and Ryan Stephan; one brother, Pastor Jerry Straszheim and wife Conni of St. Petersburg, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, May 18,2009 at Storch Braund Funeral Home, New Madison, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 19,2009 at the Funeral Home, with Pastor John Place and Pastor Jerry Straszheim being asked to officiate. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to Tri-Village Rescue, New Madison, Oh.
