Helen M. Niswonger, 84, of Greenville, passed away late Thursday morning, January 27, 2011 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville. She was born March 3, 1926 in West Manchester, daughter of the late John Patrick and Carrie (Arthur) Haller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Derrick Mowery. A homemaker, Helen was an avid refunder and had sold Avon. She enjoyed Elvis, all kinds of music, roller skating and traveling around the country with her husband and love of her life on a Harley motorcycle. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George Niswonger; her daughters, Shirley (Tom) Mowery, and Bonnie (Lloyd) Stinson both of Greenville; grandchildren, Tonia Mowery, Brian Henson and Eric Henson; great grandchildren, Eli Hathaway, Lane Mowery and Cortlin Gentry; and two sisters, Dixie Shaffer of Eldorado, and Mary Ellen Strahan of Clayton. Private services will be held at a later date at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. There will be no public visitation. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
