Ida Leona Farmer, 92, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Aiden Healthcare in Greenville.
She was born on July 7, 1930, in Greenville, to the late Benjamin and Gladys (Mullins) Shahan.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Farmer, in 2019; her sister, Elsie Lane; and her brother, Benjamin shahan.
Ida loved to bake and cook. She would enter her baked good at the Great Darke County Fair and won numerous awards over the years. She was an avid card and Scrabble player. Ida always had a sharp mind and and vast vocabulary, making her difficult to beat in a game of Scrabble. She was a big sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds.
Ida is survived by her children and their spouses, Bob Farmer of Wimberley, Texas, and Kellie and Rick Fagan of Eagle River, Alaska; her grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa Kreutzmann of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mandi and Leon Carrol of McKinney, Texas, Cody and Katelyn Farmer of Buda, Texas, Elizabeth and Jeremy Pearson of Celina, Texas, Abby Tichenor of Eagle River, Alaska, Bryce Fagan of Eagle River, Alaska, and Kayla and Alex Lobez of Anchorage, Alaska; her great-grandchildren, Sydney and Travis Kreutzmann, Nataza Wilson, Kennedy Farmer, Kaienna Whittier, Olivia Carrol, Grant and Audrey Pearson, Kasen Lopez, and Riverlynn Fagan; and her nephew, Tim and Shelly Shahan.
A celebration of Ida's life will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Castine Church. Burial will follow at the Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio.
Guests may visit with Ida's family on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Castine Church, 624 State Route 127, Arcanum, Ohio 45304.
The family request that there are no flowers. Instead, memorial contributions be given to the Castine Church, 624 US-127, Arcanum, OH 45304.
