Isabelle Ruth Hollinger, 95, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Brethren Retirement Community. Isabelle was born on, May 31, 1918 to the late George and Linnie (Bennett) Chamberlain.
Isabelle was a homemaker during her life. She was a 1936 graduate of New Madison School, a member of the Harmony Makers, an advisor in 4-H and a talented seamstress making clothes for her children. She also helped with the family business, Hollinger Sand and Gravel. Isabelle was a member of Beech Grove Church of the Brethren.
In addition to her parents, Isabelle is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hollinger, whom she was married to for 65 years; a granddaughter, Deborah Lynn Hollinger; and two brothers, Donald and Roland Chamberlain.
Isabelle is survived by a son, Tom and wife Sharon Hollinger; a daughter, Carol Sue and husband Ronald Elkins; four grandchildren, Sandra Shaffer, Kendall and wife Kari Elkins, Stephanie and husband Jeff Allread, and Doug and wife Amy Hollinger; nine great grandchildren, Kayla and Braden Shaffer, Caleb, Leah, and Kenton Allread, Evan and Owen Elkins, and Riley and Kara Hollinger; a sister in law, Constance Chamberlain and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Braund Pope Funeral Home in New Madison with Rev. Gary Cloyd officiating. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 9 - 11 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery. The family request memorial contributions be given to Brethren Retirement Community Residence Aid or State of the Heart Hospice.
