James "Jim" D. Plessinger, 76, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on February 28, 1944, in Greenville to the late Carl and Sara (Wogoman) Plessinger.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Plessinger; and his brother Joseph Plessinger.
Jim had a love for animals, especially the neighborhood cats. He was known for feeding and taking care of them. In fact, Jim loved all nature had to offer. It was not uncommon for him to sit outside and watch the birds and squirrels. He liked to collect gadgets and make family videos. Jim was a great writer and would often write notes to his family. He also enjoyed shopping and would visit Walmart or Kroger almost daily.
Jim is survived by his wife, Teresa (Garland) Plessinger, whom he married on June 21, 1980; his children, Linda Plessinger, Constance Shilt, Kelly Clark and her husband, Jerry, Jeramie Stevens and his wife, Cindi, and James Ryan Plessinger and his wife, Stacy, all of Greenville; and his 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Jim's life will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 25, 2020, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Rev. Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Jim's family on Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family recommends that face masks be worn.
Memorial contributions may be given, in memory of Jim, to the Darke County Humane Society.
