Develbiss, 93, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2001 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1917 in Darke County, son of the late Harry and Mayme (Swadner) Develbiss. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Develbiss and a sister, Lavon Schlecty. Jim was retired from Corning Glass in Greenvillke where he had worked in the maintenance department for  over 25 years. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII. He is survived by his daughter Linda (David) Hall of Greencastle, IN. A memorial service with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held Saturday, February 5 at 2 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Ft. Jefferson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1 p.m. till time of services at 2. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
