Jeanette Viola Mills

Jeanette Viola Mills, 92, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away on December 9, 2019, at Greenville Health and Rehab in Greenville, Ohio.

She was born on January 5, 1927, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Eli M. and Flora Mae (Studebaker) Smith.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Edgar Mills, whom she married on December 24, 1942; her infant daughter, Betty Jo Mills; and her sisters, Sylvia DeBruler, and Alice Kaiser.

Jeanette was a talented seamstress and loved to sew. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with friends and family. She loved to cook and bake and will forever be remembered for her pickled eggs and famous pecan pie. Jeanette had few needs in life. She only needed her family to be happy. She loved to spend time with her grandsons and great granddaughters. Nothing brought a smile to her face more than being with them. She was the foundation on which her family was built, and her absence will be felt everyday.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Sandy Hollinger and her husband, Jerry, of Hollansburg, Ohio; her grandsons, Johnathan Hollinger and his wife, Amber, of Greenville, and Cody Hollinger of Hollansburg; and her great granddaughters, Harley and Olivia Hollinger.

Private services will be held at the convenience of Jeanette's family. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio.
