Jerilyn "Jerri" J. Oliver, 76, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
She was born on October 22, 1946, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Carey and Marilyn (Fackler) Younkman.
Jerri is survived by her husband of 27 years, Roger E. Oliver, whom she married on October 8, 1995; her children, Chad (Melissa) Yoakam of Livingston, Montana, Heather Balent of Centerville, Ohio, Josh (Christie) Yoakam of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Nanci (Mark) Willman of Greenville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Nick and Ryan Balent, Samantha and Jeremy Yoakam, Jacob Cristiano, and Grant and Evan Willman; her siblings. Nancy Wright of Spring Texas, and Craig (Marie) Younkman of Prudenville, Michigan; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Oliver of Gallatin, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and countless lifelong friends in LaFayette, Kettering, and Greenville.
Jerri was a 1964 graduate of LaFayette-Jackson High School. She then continued her education at Bluffton University where she received her bachelors in education. Jerri was a distinguished educator; developing students throughout Ohio and Kentucky for most of her life. Most recently, she served as a substitute teacher for Greenville City Schools, where most knew her as "Mrs. O". Jerri also spent several years working in human resources for Greenville Technology as well as Faurecia Automotive in Troy. She was a member of Greenville BPW from 1995 to 1998 and the Gamma Epsilon Chapter Lambda Chi Omega Philanthropic Charity.
Jerri was a loving, strong, determined, and patriotic woman. She loved her family and was beyond proud of all her children and grandchildren have accomplished. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and making memories with her friends. Jerri also enjoyed hosting a good party from time to time. Most of all, Jerri strived to let every child, student, and person she encountered know their worth.
A celebration of Jerri's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Rev. Alliyah Greaver officiating. A private burial will take place at Greenville Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
