John Ed Mounce

John Ed Mounce, age 80, of Greenville, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 19, 1943 in Monticello, KY to the late Roy and Betty Mounce.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded is death by his sisters, Emma Crider, Liz Lake, and Wanda Warner; stepson, Jimmy Buckingham; and sister-in-law, Helen Mounce.

John is survived by his companion, Charla Shoup; daughter, Suzanne (Rob Robison) Arena; grandchildren, George Arena Jr., Kyrsten Arena, Kraig Lawrence, and Allison Stith; and great granddaughter, Karley Arena; brother, Fred Mounce; sister, Helen Corder; brother-in-law, Larry Crider; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He worked for many years and retired as a ground’s keeper from the Greenville Country Club. John loved working on cars, playing cards, fishing, playing guitar, and singing. More than anything, John loved his family.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM- Noon on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. A funeral service will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Fee officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Everheart Hospice.
