Karen S. Newbauer

Karen S. Newbauer, 69, of Greenville, passed away Friday morning, January 16, 2015 at her daughter's residence in Greenville.

She was born July 21, 1945, in Darke County, daughter of the late Floyd D. and Leona A. (Grimes) Gessler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Vincent; and a sister, Rita Riegle.

Karen was retired from Fram in Greenville. She was a member of the Greenville American Legion Auxiliary and was a longtime blood donor.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald E. Newbauer, whom she married September 14, 1968; a daughter, Shawna (Mike) Wise of Greenville; 2 grandsons, Douglas and Aaron; and a brother, Glen (Charlotte) Gessler of Statesville, NC.

Services will be held Friday, January 23 at 2 p.m., at the Greenville Grace Brethren Church, 4805 St. Rt. 49 S, Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be given to either the Dayton Children's Medical Center Endocrinology Center or State of the Heart Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
