Laura J. Mendenhall

Laura J. Mendenhall, 86, of Union City, OH, passed away early Friday morning, August 28, 2015 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born September 21, 1928 in Union City, IN, daughter of the late Creston F. and Opal (Hart) Harter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L Mendenhall on May 7, 2012; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Mendenhall; a sister, Barbara Schlechty; brothers, Junior Harter and Marlin E. Harter.

Laura was a homemaker. She was a member of the former Poplar Grove Church of the Brethren and attended the Greenville Missionary Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Doug) LeMaster, Lisa (Mark) Spille; twin sons, Craig (friend, Tammy) Mendenhall, and Gregg Mendenhall; grandchildren, Laura (Ivan) Gregory, Kelly LeMaster, Troy (Ruth) Mendenhall, Chad (Melissa) Anderson, Michelle (Aaron) Missler, Eric (Kerra) Mendenhall, Megan (Aaron) Hollowell, Rachael (Travis) Brunk, Brent (Casey) Spille, Jennifer Spille; great grandchildren, Trent, Anna, and Gabe Mendenhall, Ava Gregory, Carrina and Miles Brunk, Jackson and Carter Hollowell, Jordon, and Grayson Missler, Kaylee and Javin Mendenhall; a sister, Pauline Thornburg; a sister-in-law, Charlene Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Greenville Missionary Church.
