Laura Lee Bortner

April 4, 1950 — March 24, 2015

Laura Lee Bortner, 64, of New Madison, went to be with her Savior on March 24, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Laura was born April 4, 1950 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Gerald V. and Evelyn (Willoughby) Bortner.
Laura lived to serve that which was important to her. First, and foremost, was family. She had 3 families that were extremely important to her. She loved the Bortner family she was born in to, her church family at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren, and her family at the Brethren Retirement Community which consisted of both co-workers and residents.
Laura had a keen memory and often regailed family with stories of heritage, childhood and friends. She loved serving her Lord, her family and her friends. Laura had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She was smart and always fun to be around. She had a way of making others happy and showing kindness. Laura could keep everyone laughing in gatherings with her insight into people's personalities, and the stories she created from them. Laura was a favorite aunt as she always had her "Bag O' Fun" that she brought along. She will be missed by many.
