Laurie Jean Spurlock

Laurie Jean Spurlock, 44, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 25, 2018, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

She was born June 15, 1974 in Winchester, Indiana, to Steve Hammer, Sr. of Union City, Indiana, and Roxanne Crouse Hammer of Greenville, Ohio.

Laurie was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Vernon Spurlock; and her maternal grandfather, William Crouse; and her paternal grandfather, Orin K. Hammer.

Laurie loved her family, her husband and her children. She enjoyed the time spent with them and especially when she got to see Carter. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed the small things. Bingo was a favorite pastime along with taking care of Tim. She was a huge part in her family's life and her passing will be felt by all who knew her.

Laurie is survived by her husband of 20 years, Tim Spurlock, whom she married August 13, 1998; her children, Destany Myers, Devin Myers, Duncan Spurlock and Lorissa Spurlock, all of Greenville; her grandson, Carter Myers; her brothers, Steve Hammer, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, and William Hammer of Fort Wyane, Indiana; and her mother-in-law Louise Spurlock of Greenville, Ohio.

A Celebration of Laurie's life will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11AM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus, with Pastor Eric Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
