Leroy J. Brown

LeRoy J. Brown, 65, of Versailles, passed away Thursday evening, January 6, 2011 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Dayton. He was born in Richmond, IN on May 11, 1945, son of the late Isaac and Sarah (Trissel) Brown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Inez Brown; and brothers, Tony, Ralph, Dave and Ed Brown, and Raymond Boggs. LeRoy was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam Era. He had worked as a security guard and served on the Ansonia Police Department in the 1970's. He is survived by his brothers, Isaac Brown of Greenville, William J. Brown of West Salem, OH, Andy Brown of Winchester, IN and Michael Brown of Greenville; and sisters, Sarah Jean Ward of Reno, NV and Ann Devore of Wooster, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Services with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 13, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White officiating. A  graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to help defray funeral expenses.
