Lester Eugene Lutz

Lester E. Lutz, 69, of Gettysburg passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at his residence. He was born November 26, 1938, son of the late Eugene and Clara (Miller) Lutz.
Lester worked for Hobarts PMI in Troy for 36 years and enjoyed farming in his life. He also served in the United States Air Force. Lester was a member of the Masonic Lodge #477 F&AM in Gettysburg, Eagles and Moose Lodges in Greenville. He was a former member of the Gettysburg Fire Department, served on the zoning board and the Town Council in Gettysburg.
Lester is preceded in death by his son Marcus Lutz and an infant sister.
Lester is survived by his wife Nancy (Stapleton) Lutz whom he married on June 27, 1987; brothers Jim and wife Cindy Fisher of Amanda, Ohio and Edward and wife Carol Fisher of Vandalia; a step daughter, Victoria Woerner of El Paso, TX; Father-in-law, Bob Stapleton; Sister-in-law, Linda and husband Mike Price of Albion, Indiana; and Brother-in-law Larry Stapleton of Hollansburg, Ohio, many nieces and nephews and his cats that he referred to as his kids.
Services with be held on 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Palestine Church of Christ in Palestine, Ohio with the Rev. Eric Fee being asked to officiate. Friends and family may attend visitation from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday before the services. A Masonic Lodge of Sorrow will at 2:45 p.m. The Darke County Veterans Honor Guard will be performing a military service at the church. Private burial services will be held at the family’s convenience.
