Lois Irene Weimer

Lois I. (Pentecost) Weimer, 96, of Greenville passed away on September 19, 2010 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Lois was born on October 6, 1913 in Preble County, Ohio to the late Emerson and Emma (Quick) Pentecost.

Lois was a farm wife and worked as a church janitor at Beech Grove Church of the Brethren for 30 years. She also worked at the Brethren Retirement Community. Lois loved to sew and made comforters for the grandchildren. She loved getting family together at her house, gardening, canning, picking raspberries, cooking, eating ice cream and spending time with the grandchildren. She was a long time member of Beech Grove Church of the Brethren

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Weimer who passed away on April 29, 1998; five brothers, Levi, Kenneth, Henry, Marion and Charles Pentecost; a sister, Lela; a grandchild, and two great- grandchildren.

Lois is survived by two sons, Norman (Barbara) Weimer of New Madison and Keith (Nancy) Weimer of Hollansburg; three daughters, Nancy Bloom of Virginia, Phyllis (Don) Michaelsen of Olmsted Falls, Ohio and Letha (Terry) Whittington of Hollansburg; 18 grandchildren, 36 great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a brother, Maurice (Jane) Pentecost of Indiana; two sisters, Dorothy Munyon of North Carolina and Maxine Hite of Florida; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Beech Grove Church of the Brethren. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 10:30 AM also at the church with the Rev. Randy Devor and her granddaughter Rev. Cyndi Bloise being asked to officiate. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Beech Grove Church of the Brethren, Heifer International, The Gideons International or Brethren Retirement Community’s Residence Aid Fund with donations being accepted at the church.
