Lois Madge Benge

Lois Madge Benge, 83, of Ansonia, passed away Monday morning, January 26, 2009 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. She was born in Darke County, daughter of the late Harry and Josey (Shiverdecker) Shook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Benge on December 29, 1956; and ten brothers and sisters. Madge had retired from Westinghouse in Union City, IN where she had worked for several years. She is survived by her children, Willard "Gene" (Cheryl) Clouse, Terry (Cheryl) Benge; Phillip Benge and Linda (Tim) Burnfield all of Ansonia; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Waymire of Rossburg; and a very special niece, Katie Hummel. Services will be held Friday, January 30, at 2 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Dane Driver officiating. Burial will follow in the Shook's Chapel Cemetery near Rossburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund or State of the Heart Hospice.
