Lucy E. Murphy

Lucy E. Murphy, age 86, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 in Greenville. She was born on May 9, 1937 in Greenville to the late Robert D. and Bertha Young.

In addition to her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Murphy; siblings, Robert D. Young, Jr. and Rollie Young; brother-in-law, Leroy (Marilyn) Murphy; and sister-in-law, Mabel.

Lucy is survived by her son, Patrick Murphy of Greenville; siblings, Elizabeth Hemmerich of New Mexico, Sondra P. Cottrell of Florida, and Kevin (Becky) Young of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the former mayor and council woman for Rossburg. Lucy was also secretary and treasurer of the Darke County Mayors Association. She enjoyed taking care of her family and home. In her free time, she also enjoyed reading.
