Margaret J. Miles

Margaret J. Miles, age 90, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on December 26, 2024, surrounded by family at her home.

She was born on November 15, 1934, in New Weston, Ohio, to the late Daniel and Anna (Gause) Gehron. 

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Miles, whom she married on September 13, 1953, and who passed away on March 23, 2012; her brothers, Melvin Gehron and Willard Gehron; and her sister, Bernice Rhoades.

Margaret is survived by her sister, Corda Leeper of North Star; her sons, Terry (Lisa) Miles of Hollansburg, Larry (Joyce) Miles of New Madison, and Jerry (Cathy) Miles of Greenfield, IN; her daughters, Diane Pace (John Hardy) of Greenville, and Donna (Don) Barnt of Greenville; her 22 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. 

Margaret graduated from Versailles High School in 1952. She and her late husband, Thomas, were proud owners of Hilltop Market in Braffettsville for 14 years, serving the small rural community. Margaret enjoyed playing cards, cooking, and spending time with family. 

Margaret will always be remembered for her kindness and contagious laugh. She was a people person that never knew a stranger. Margaret spent a lot of time baking cookies and candy with her grandchildren. She always said she was a bullheaded dutchman and proved that to the end. 

A celebration of Margaret's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Greenville Union Cemetery.

Guests may visit with her family on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.
