Martin “Mike” Doyle, age 75, of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home, with his family at his side, on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
He was born on March 25, 1949, in Cannon City, Colorado, to the late Dean Austin and Jessie (Wren) Doyle.
Mike is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vickie (Turner) Doyle, whom he married on November 25, 1965; his daughters and their spouses, Laurie (Mike) Erwin of Ansonia, Lisa (Todd) Mowery of Troy, Robin (Jerry) Spencer of London, Ohio, and Kristin (Darin) Beach; his grandchildren, Jacob Erwin, Emma Erwin, Ava Erwin, Marisa Mowery, Peyton Mowery and fiancé, Chloe Johnston, Kyle (Dani) Spencer, Kelsie Spencer, Khloe Spencer, Trenton Miller, Sydney Miller, and Marissa Beach; his brother, Larry Doyle of Cotopaxi, Colorado; his in-laws, Diann (John) Hartzell, Jerry (Carrie) Turner, and Tim (Jan) Turner, all of Ansonia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister and her husband, Linda (Albert) Duncan, and his father and mother-in-law, Junior and Phyllis Turner.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Ansonia High School. He continued his education at ITT Tech, where he graduated in 1971. Mike worked for FRAM/Honeywell in Greenville until he retired after 40 years. If you knew Mike, you knew he loved softball. Aside from playing countless games of softball, he also coached the Ansonia girls’ softball team from 1987 to 1995. He was proud to bear the title “coach” even to this day. If he was not playing or coaching, Mike often enjoyed going fishing, golfing, playing cards, putting together jig-saw puzzles and, of course, rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team.
Mike was a proud husband, dad of four girls, and grandpa. He enjoyed rough housing with them and taught them to be strong and tough. Mike enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and would always support them in all their activities. Mike never knew a stranger. He was known for his contagious smile and laugh, sense of humor, and his orneriness. He truly left a lasting impression and touched the lives of many around him. He will be forever missed.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
