Marvin T. Bowers

Marvin T. Bowers, 82, of Greenville and formerly of New Madison, passed away on January 29, 2014 at his residence. Marvin was born on June 20, 1931 in New Madison, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Melissa Lucinda (Charles) Bowers.
Marvin retired in 1985 from Inland Manufacturing ”General Motors”. He was a member of EUM Church in Greenville, American Legion Post # 245, Greenville Masonic Lodge #143 and also a 32nd degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton. Marvin enjoyed spending his free time gardening.
Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Irene (Benjamin) Bowers on May 28, 2012; four brothers, Pete, Harold, Bob, and Joe Bowers; four sisters, Edith Bowers, Judy Klopfer, Doris Longnecker and Carol Sue Bowers.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are two sons, Michael Bowers of Denver, Colorado and David Bowers of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado; a daughter, Melinda Bowers of Denver, Colorado; three grandsons, Benjamin Petrila Bowers of Denver, Colorado, Gregory Allan Bowers of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Ethan Thomas Bowers of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother and sister in law, Donald and Mary Bowers of Greenville; two sisters and brothers in law, Ruth and Von Spitzer of Versailles and Jean and Gene Knox of New Paris; and his beloved cat, Miss Kitty.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Braund Pope Funeral Home in New Madison, Ohio with Rev. John McRoberts officiating. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 12-2 pm prior to the service. Military services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Labre Indian School, P.O. Box 216, Ashland,MT 59003-9989. The family is being served by Braund Pope Funeral Home.
