Mary Ann Bright

Mary Ann Bright, age 83, formerly of New Madison, Ohio, passed away on June 30, 2022, at her daughter's residence in Westerville, Ohio.

She was born on September 3, 1938, to the late Roberts and Irene (Thomas) Hunt.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Sim Bright; and her brother, Gayle Hunt.

Mary Ann spent most of her life as a resident of Darke County. She was a graduate of New Madison High School. Mary Ann was a member of the Whitewater Christian Church, where she played the organ, a part of the bell choir, as well as sang in the choir. Mary Ann worked at the Medical Building, for 27 years, in New Madison as the Office Manager for Dr. Alvin Heise and others. She later retired from the payroll department of the Brethren Retirement Community.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Jay) Thompson of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Joyce Bright of Westerville; her grandchildren, Katie Thompson of Fairborn, Ohio, and Jacob (Jessie) Thompson of Carmel, Indiana; and her sister, Betty Anderson of Lake Wales, Florida.

Visitation for Mary Ann will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, New Madison campus.

Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM with Pastor Steve Baney officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given, in memory of Mary Ann, to the Ohio State Alzheimer's Research Fund at The Ohio State University.
